In the first day of the season sales, that are held in Belgium only twice a year, public excitement has increased thanks to the shop-keepers’ decision to reduce prices for some goods for 70%.
The sales begin in the second half of Christmas holidays, this is why women in Belgium, the majority of whom have got ready to buy some new clothes, will walk tirelessly in the shopping center looking for a model they need.
Those who go shopping on that day should be ready to stand in long queues in front of cash desks and fitting-rooms.
As the practice of the last years shows, some impatient women fit clothes and even underwear right on the shop floor.
The sale will continue until the end of January
According to a questionnaire, the majority of Belgium tradesmen are expecting a slump in profits on their sales, around 5%, they consider it to be the result of the general rise in the price of goods, caused by the price increase of oil.
