Henceforth at the Swedish airports passengers must be fingerprinted during their check-in. This system has been tested at the airport of the town of Lulea and approved. Passengers consider that it reduces the duration of the registration procedure and consequently decreases queues near the check-in desks.

As it was promised long ago, the new system of handling passengers’ luggage has been introduced by the Swedish airline “SAS”. This system helps to determine by fingerprints the owner of the suitcase. Checking in, tourists put their finger to a special reading machine. When they arrive at the airport of destination they must pass the same procedure before getting their luggage. The biometric identification of the luggage practically excludes the possibility of errors, makes faster the process of check-in and the registration of luggage, and increases the safety of flights.

We should remind that in February the European Commission will obligate the airlines of EU countries to create a special database of passengers. All people who enter the European Union must pass a threefold inspection including the biometric verification for the defeat of terrorist threat.
