The staff of Florida University has carried out a research, which showed that too durable swimming in the sea and too durable staying at the wet sand are increasing the risk of catching a stomach disease – gastroenteritis.
Gastroenteritis – is the inflammation of mucous coat of stomach and small intestine, which progresses in the result of the penetration of viruses, bacteria and sitotoxins into the stomach and intestine.
As said by scientists, a short-term staying on the beach doesn’t constitute a threat to health; however, one should not overuse this kind of relaxation.
According to the results of the research, the microbes centralize at the edge of the water, in the water itself and also near the feet of swimmers. And the excrement of seabirds causes the impurity of the beach sand.
There is one more obvious example of the probability of disease. 10 minutes of the rest on the beach will cause the disease of 6 people from every thousand. And 2 hours spent on the wet sand will cause the disease of 12 people from every 100. And, if to stay too long in the water besides it, the probability of catching the disease will increase in many times. |
