A spring-cleaning is taking place on the longest in the world natural beach in Bangladesh. The length of the beach called Cox's Bazaar is 120 kilometers.
The beach is already listed in the Guinness Book of World Records, and it is also nominated for a contest of “Seven Natural Wonders of the World”, which was announced after the end of such a contest among the artificial historical monuments. The winners of the new contest will be named in two years.
The local authorities hope that the renewal of the beach will help to attract more tourists in the country. And indeed, the foreign guests started visiting more frequent the south-east of Bangladesh, where new hotels, built according to the world standards have appeared.
There is also a new road being built in the region, which will stretch 80 kilometers along the shore and will delight the eye with its picturesque scenery.
But the main attraction of the beach still remains the sight of sundown; to enjoy it hundreds of holiday-makers line up every evening along the shore. |
