In the western fjords of Iceland tours that include whales observation will become regular. Only 3% of the foreign tourists got to the western shore of Iceland in the past year. According to the opinion of the local authorities, the opportunity to watch whales in any time of the year will attract more tourists to this region.

The interest to these sea animals will contribute to the coastal infrastructure, being often in a miserable state, because to watch the whales - the tourists often have to travel to the distant shores and small fisherman villages and get into the sea from there.
