According to the last data, the tourist flow to Colombia continues to increase, in spite of the unstable situation in the country and the high crime rate. Now the number of foreign travelers is 2,5 million per year and it gradually increases: adventure lovers seem not to be scared by the statistics of abductions (687 cases for 2007), robberies and acts of terrorism.

Representatives of the Colombian Center on tourist development insist that rumors about danger are strongly exaggerated, and nothing threatens visitors of the country. Nevertheless it is recommended to follow some standard rules: do not talk with strangers, watch your personal things, do not walk alone and whenever possible do not go out at night.
