The inquiry attached to the birthday of the famous British engineer Isambard Brunel has revealed the list of the most popular sights in Britain.
Big Ben has taken the first place. The second was occupied by the Stonehenge. The Top-10 has entered also the Blackpool Tower, copy of the Eiffel Tower in the Lancashire, edified in the 1894.
Six of the 10 most beloved by the British people sights are located in London. Among those are the buildings of the Parliament, Buckingham Palace and the joy-wheel London Eye - the biggest one in Europe.
In spite of the fact that the inquiry has been held attached to the birthday of Isambard Brunel on the 9-th of April, none of his constructions has entered the top 10, though many British, mostly inhabitants of the Western England have voted for the suspension bridge, constructed by his project in Clifton. In total 2000 people have taken part in the inquiry. |
