This year China has reduced the amount of death sentences in comparison with the year 2007, but the PRC remains the world leader in this area. The "International Amnesty" organization has mentioned it in their annual report.

The second place occupies Iran with 377 of executions, including a person slaughtered with stones for infidelity. The third place takes Saudi Arabia - 143. The USA quote has fallen down to the 15-years minimum and this country is on the fifth place with 42 executions of the last year.

Besides, according to the research, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Libya are leaders in the amount of executions per inhabitant. In three countries - Iran, Saudi Arabia and Yemen the death sentences were judged to the the citizens younger than 18 what contradicts to the international human rights.

Totally, the year 2007 has brought more than 1200 death sentence executions in the world. And there are in total 3347 of death sentences.
