Till the end of the year the world ocean level can rise by one and half meters and most of the European countries will be under water - these are the results of the latest scientific research. Earlier the experts thought that the world ocean level will rise only by 30-40 centimeters, but the latest data that was obtained by the British and Finnish scientists - based on the computer model, temperature and ocean level analysis for the last 2 thousand years - tells that the situation is much worse.

The catastrophe is inescapable. The rise of the world ocean level will have the most serious consequences for the states whose territory are located in the lowlands. The water has risen only by 20 centimeters for the last 2 thousand years and further the level change will be significantly higher - by 0,8 - 1,5 meters and this process is linked with the melting of the continental glaciers.

In 2007 a German scientist Stefan Ramschtorf came also to a conclusion that the world ocean level will make 0,5 - 1,4 meters in 92 years. He used another calculation method for his research.
