From the 1-st of July 2008 in Switzerland there will be a new law that protects the interests of the watch manufacturers. According to the new rules, the customs officers can seize the watch from the tourists in case they suspect that these are a fake. They talk exactly about the personal watch! And of course, if the fake production will be found in the luggage of the traveler, he risks to stay in the mountain land more than he planned.

The famous Swiss watches have been always a subject to fakes. Along with the technical progress, the amount of fakes only grows. With the help of the new law, the manufacturing companies can better track the fakes and struggle against the bad quality products with their logotype at the market.

It is worth to mention, that in comparison with France and Italy, where a found fake is a subject to a serious fine, in Switzerland the tourist will only part with the item; there are no additional financial or any other measures. But also in the USA, the tourist will not only loose the watch, but also pay a serious fine.
