A grandiose parade has taken place in London to celebrate the International Women Day.
Several thousands of women have marched along the streets of the British capital - from Hyde Park through the Piccadilly Street, the Piccadilly Square, to the Trafalgar Square, where the culmination of the event took place - a demonstration for the women rights and against the home violence.
The representative of various organizations have joined the parade - starting from those that protect women, being oppressed at home, till the lesbian organizations.
The representatives of the weak gender demonstrate posters with inscriptions: "No to the home violence", "No to the sexual exploitation of women and children", "They want only sex from us". There are also unusual exemplars among the posters, like "Stop the belt strapping at home".
Several streets in the London center are completely closed for traffic, the security is provided by hundreds of policemen.
Everything went quite easy, without incidents. The multiple tourists are watching the parade and are especially admired by the improvised orchestra sessions that consists of the participants of the event.
Women are joining the procession sometimes taking small children with them and even animals. |
