In the Brazilian city Rio de Janeiro the main Christmas-tree of the city is installed. Its height is 85 m that is approximately equal to height of a 28-storeyed house.

The main Christmas-tree of the city has 530 tons in weight. Every day up till the beginning of January after it gets dark 2,9 million light bulbs, connected by 37 thousand m. of light wires, will be lit on it. They are operated by the computer, which constantly changes colour patterns. The electricity is produced by seven generators with power of more than 2,5 thousand Kw. According to traditions, the patterns on a fur-tree are devoted to the certain theme. This year the luminous in night pictures of the huge flat Christmas-tree "balls" show the main temples of the South American country.
