In the nearest two days the waves up to 14 meters in height, which can become the highest in country's history, will fall from Atlantic ocean on the western coast of Ireland. Such a warning was made by the Sea Institute and the Department of meteorology of Ireland.
The strengthening of the wind and a wide strip of very low pressure over the western coast will encourage the formation of unusually high wave.
Ships are recommended to refrain from staying in the dangerous zone, and Ireland inhabitants are not advised to be in close proximity to the ocean. A part of passenger ferries has already canceled their voyages because of the storm warning.
The last time a record height of wave was registered on the 17th of January 2005 in Galway - 13,4. Generally in November - December this parameter is twice - twice and a half lower.
