The Austrians were frightened of neighbours |
Inhabitants of the Austrian cities, located on the border with Hungary, are in deaf defense: on entrance roads barriers and prohibiting signs are being established.
Townspeople are seriously afraid for the peace and public order after the agreement on expansion of the Schengen zone will come into force. Tomorrow "the space of the open borders" will include 9 states - basically the countries of the East Europe and Baltic republics.
As recent interrogation has shown, three quarters of the Austrians look at neighbors from the East as if they were potential criminals and consider expansion of Schengen an unsuccessful idea. |
