German tourists prefer to spend their vacation among compatriots

The majority of Germans prefer to have a rest in their own circle. Only some of them try to contact other tourists or local residents. The experts of the German market GfK institute came to such a conclusion.

Recently the German division of the large tourist portal TripAdviser published the results of the German tourists’ preferences research. The poll was made by the German market GfK institute. More than 1000 German tourists, 500 from whom regularly spend their holiday abroad, took part in it.

German tourists do not like to have a rest with Englishmen.

The experts GfK informed that 61 percent of the polled people noted that they had to face with the unseemly behavior of other tourists. Answering the question concerning the nationality of the noisy and ill-bred having a rest people, 20 percent of the respondents named Englishmen.

Further Russian tourists follow - they irritate 18, 5 percent of the poll participants. On the third place there are German tourists - so 15 percent of the polled people answered. On the fourth place occurred Dutch - they were mentioned by 11,9 percent of the respondents.

The majority of the polled people - 62,2 percent - told that it is extremely unpleasant to be among the drunken tourists of any nationality, frequently behaving in the unseemly way.

Besides, the majority of the respondents noted that the tourists from Switzerland and Austria do not bother them by their behavior. However, the poll, made in Bavaria, revealed the absolutely opposite result: 15,1 percent of the Bavarians, having participated in the research, are dissatisfied with the Austrian tourists’ behavior, 10,6 percent - with the Swiss tourists.

Germans do not aspire to establish good relations with the other people having a rest.

According to GfK, only some German tourists aspire to get along well with the having a rest people from the other countries or the local residents. 37 percent of the respondents prefer to communicate during their rest only with Germans. The percent of such respondents in the east German Lands is even higher - 48, 5 percent.

25,1 percent of the respondents do not look for the new acquaintances during their rest at all. This index makes up 31,2 percent in the east lands. On the whole, it turns out that 62 percent of the respondents avoid acquaintances with the tourists from the other countries. Among the population of the east lands this indicator makes up 79,7 percent.

Nevertheless, 11,3 percent of the polled persons willingly get acquainted with the foreign people, having a rest, and 20,4 percent – get along well with the local residents.

Traditionally the German resorts are Spain, Turkey and Italy.

According to the poll results, the majority of the German tourists prefer to have a rest in the countries where traditionally there are many Germans. Spain belongs to this category - it was chosen by 17,4 percent of the respondents. Further comes Turkey (13,4 percent), and Italy is on the third place (11,6 percent). However, 45,2 percent of the research participants told that they cannot estimate at all in what countries they are especially glad to see the German tourists.
