This year about one million tourists visited Columbia. According to the entrance statistics, from January till December the country had been visited by 966 thousand foreigners, that is 13 % more than in 2006. The government attributes this growth of the entrance tourism to the held advertising campaigns, democratic changes and stable safety.

The greatest number of foreign visitors arrived from the USA, Venezuela, Ecuador and Spain. The most visited places by foreigners became Bogotá and Cartagena.

The Trade Minister Luis Guillermo Plata informed that the international tourism brought to the treasury of Columbia about 8 billion dollars of the income, that is 8 % more than last year's indices.
