| In the western Iceland tourists are offered to watch the whales (5 Apr. 2008) - The social interest to whales was pretty low in the 90-s. Not more that 100 tourists got to the western coast of Iceland to watch them in 1991. Nowadays, with the growth of the popularity of the ecological and nature preservation topics, the whales watching became a more popular activity and in 2007 already 104 thousands of tourists got the whale watching places and some countries even see touristic and surely commercial use in this activity. |
